Fun Day

Today Misty and I went with Lily and Cabo to visit some mentally disabled adults. They loved the dogs and as you can see from this picture the dogs got LOTS of attention! Misty loved the belly rub this girl gave her. We are going back next month to visit them again. It was a great experience!

On the way home I looked back to check on Misty and somehow she got the seatbelt around her. I guess she was scared of Lily's driving! =)

When we got back to work my friend Cindy had some carrots waiting for Misty. Misty brought them to me so I would give them to her.

Boy Scouts

Tonight Misty and I went with Lily and Cabo to talk to a group of boy scouts. We explained about CCI and Misty showed them how she picks things up for me. I was expecting to only speak to about 20 people but it was more like 50! The kids loved the dogs of course. Misty and Cabo love kids so they had a blast too!

Misty protects her toys from Laurie

This is Misty laying underneath my desk at work. My friend Laurie gave her the toy Misty has her paw on. Laurie likes to tease Misty that she is going to take her toy away. When she does this Misty will never let Laurie touch the toy. She puts her paw on it and she licks Laurie's hand when she comes near the toy.

This morning as I was getting dressed I had the tv on. Misty has never really paid attention to the tv, but when I turned it on to the Animal Planet channel and the show "Dogs 101" was on she didn't take her eyes off the tv until a commercial came on.

Today in a meeting at work, Misty was taking a nap on the floor by my feet. About half way through she gets up and decides that she needs to go greet everyone in the room. Once she had everyone pet her she came back and fell asleep at my feet until the meeting was over. She made everyone smile after that. That's my Misty!

The Beginning

I have been wanting to start a blog about Misty and me for awhile now. So I guess I will start at the beginning. I went to CCI in November, 2010 for a 2 week training to receive a service dog. I was placed with Misty on the 3rd day and it was love at first site. =) She has been my best friend ever since.

We have had many adventures since being matched so I hope to be able to start sharing the ones we have. It may be a little rough in the beginning but I hope to get better as time goes on.
